Funding Minibridge

Minibridge in schools

In June 2008 in Manchester Primary schools in the Manchester area are invited to a free Staff Training under a pilot scheme funded by the English Bridge Union. Download the June 2008 Training Promotional Info Pack.

From September 2008 your school may benefit from free Staff Training and free Minibridge Starter Packs if the Manchester (and Sheffield) pilot scheme funded by the English Bridge Union is given national coverage. Download the general Funded Minibridge Promotional Info Pack

Extended School

If your school has access to extended school funding of Minibridge then it could consider the following options:

  • Organise an Inset Staff Induction for the school's staff members keen to learn Minibridge and use it in the classroom

  • Send along staff members to a school network Staff Induction organised for a wider area

  • If the school has a Bridge-playing staff member it can simply download the Minibridge Induction materials purchasable from this site

Schools in Networks or Clusters

A precedent has been set by a forward-thinking group of schools in the Bolton and Horwich areas of Lancashire, inspired in particular by Andrew Hurst, Head of Chorley New Road Primary School and fully supported by the Cluster Head James Royale of Blackrod Church Primary School.

Using cluster funding made available for problem solving developmental work in Primary schools, Minibridge was introduced in January and February of 2006 to the following schools:

Chorley New Road Primary

Blackrod Church Primary

St Catherine's Primary

Lord Street Primary

St Mary's Primary

Claypool Primary

Horwich Parish Primary

Blackrod County Primary

Scot Lane End Primary
